Hey guys, it's
Tanabata! Thanks to the Haruhi light novels, I have a rough idea of what it's all about, but for those who don't know, it's a Japanese festival based on the Chinese festival Qi Xi. There are many different versions of the story, but in general they all feature a cowherd and a weaver girl who love each other but can't be together, and they can only meet once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th month. In Japan it's usually celebrated by writing something you wish for on a piece of paper and hanging it on bamboo. Now, I don't have any bamboo nearby to hang my tanzaku on, so I'm going to blog it. ^^; I know, it doesn't really have the same feeling, but it's the best I can do. You guys should do it too so I don't feel crazy and alone.
My tanzaku for this year! Pretend you can't read it, because it's totally a secret.
In other news, THIRD EYE BLIND (AWOEIULSJFAKJSL!!!!!) is
playing in Novato, CA, on the 27th of September. I'm trying to sound calm, but you have no idea how important it is that I see them. They were the first band that I ever fell in love with, and even if I don't like them as much now, it doesn't mean that I don't still know how to sing all their songs. It's about 30 miles off from Berkeley, maybe more, and I won't be able to get there without a car, but things like that are 100% NOT IMPORTANT right now. Does anyone want to go with me?
In other,
other news, I've totally forgotten how to write fiction with original characters. I'm supposed to be working on this piece but it's only got 900 words so far, and I'm stuck. Trying to characterise without canon
or fandom to rely on is turning out to be an impossible task for one such as I who possesses a fatally stunted imagination. I've got other stuff to work on, too, but I am probably going to merge
smokexscribbles's request with my secret project, which has the advantage of lightening my workload, but the disadvantage of taking at least a month to complete... :'(
